About Sheryl
Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton has represented New Mexico’s 19th District since 1995 and currently serves as the majority floor leader. She is a member of the Education; Labor, Veterans' and Military Affairs; Printing and Supplies; and Rules and Order of Business committees.
The first African American woman elected to the New Mexico Legislature, Stapleton is a longtime educator in the Albuquerque Public Schools and a member of AFT.
